Hunt Duration
Most New Zealand hunting trips are carried out over a 4 day accommodation package to allow for inclement weather, especially when heli-hunting is part of the itinerary. In most cases we can locate and successfully hunt your trophy stag, fallow or wapiti/elk within 2 days unless multiple species are being targeted (e.g. stag, chamois and tahr). If a hunter is successful on the first day of the hunt, then their final trophy bill will be reduced by the extra day's guide fee (if they do not wish to hunt other species). In general, we suggest a minimum 2 days are allowed for trophy deer hunts whilst a single day is sufficient for tahr, chamois, management deer, goat and ram hunts. In the event additional days are required to hunt a trophy animal, then the hunter will be charged at standard guide rates of NZD$1200/hunter/extra day.
